here we go

You always here about how people never think they'd sign up for some online thing and i thought i would never be a blogger, but here i am. my life really isn't as exciting as some people, but i thought i would give it a try and see how it goes. wish me luck!

i guess i will just start by catching up with what has been my life for the last little while. i am currently in dental hygiene school (my proudest accomplishment in life so far) and successfully completed my first year in may. it was honestly the most difficult thing i have ever done in my life! needless to say, i am petrified for this next year, especially starting tonight when i begin my anesthesia course. i, along with my classmates, will be learning how to administer anesthetic ("shots of novocaine," if you will). it's a horrifying thought-- sticking someone or being stuck by someone who has never done it. but i keep telling myself no one has died and it will be ok. i can't believe i am a 2nd year and i will have 1st years to mentor. i still feel like i'm a first year! i am so excited to see the girls in my group. it really is the best and closest of all groups. we have so much fun! im sure there will be many posts about them.

i was in utah this past summer, which if you know me shouldn't surprise you because i've practically spent every summer up there since i graduated high school. i've been graduated for 6 summers and i've spent 4 summers up there. i worked at a bakery and cafe and enjoyed the hot, yet bearable weather. which reminds me, i came home on saturday and i do not remember feeling this disgusting. i remember it being hot, but i could deal with it. i was having a hard time with how hot it was, but i'm sure i'll adjust since i've lived here my entire life.

some highlights and not so highlights from the summer include:

enjoying the utah weather
having a break from school
realizng next summer i can have a "real job"
cooking and trying new recipes
having natalie and cade visit (a girl from my dental hygiene class and her son)
seeing feist for the 2nd time (she never disappoints!)
seeing david archuleta cry because so many girls were screaming at the american idol concert
getting in my first car accident (with a car)
having my parked car get hit a week later
other car problems
surprised that an old friend from provo worked at the bakery with me
watching so you think you can dance (i wish i had an ounce of their talent!)
hiking timpanogas caves
going to california (LA, beach, disneyland, one of the best trips ever!)
sad that our main 2nd year instructor left to teach at a different school (i was really looking forward to working with her)
celebrating Loving day (look it up, it's pretty cool. it has to do with interracial marriages)
seeing utah friends

i think that's enough for a first post.
by the way if you or anyone you know needs a DENTAL HYGIENE CLEANING, I NEED PATIENTS!!! let me know, thanks!
